How We Process Light: How we perceive and process light is essential to recognizing and interpreting the world around us. The information that the visual cortex of our brains receives and the electromagnetic energy waves that are absorbed by our eyes are both used to process our surroundings. Light is thought to be more effective when compared to sound simply because of its ability to hold permanence.
The Qualities of Text: Text as a means of communicating can be extremely advantageous when it concerns recording information, wanting a permanent means of communication, and keeping progress with our work. However, text does not contain some of the remarkable qualities that oral speech can convey. Expression, intonation, and feeling are all invaluable tools that are used when communicating by speaking. Text, unlike speech, also requires the knowledge of three networks of understanding: recognition networks, strategic networks, and affective networks, all of which concern effectively processing, interpreting, and understanding the written word.
Examples of how text is not as nearly effective as spoken words are:
